How does formaldehyde affect indoor air quality?
You’ve probably never thought about ‘green’ cabinetry before. Neither did I until I learned about the harmful irritants found in traditional solvent based finishing materials like formaldehyde adhesives and petroleum-based paints. The formaldehyde vapor levels found indoors can be two to five times higher than outdoors. When these chemicals are present in the air they can cause watery eyes, burning nose and throat, nausea, coughing, chest tightness, wheezing, skin rashes or other irritations and allergies.
